Setting:
The world of Kamen Rider is an Earth much likes ours in most ways. Politics and land masses are the same. History is the same. Common technology is the same. But in the shadows of this world there exist heroes who fight without hope of popular adulation and knowledge. (Some of them are better at secret identities than others.) With superheroes, of course, come their enemies: massive shadowy terrorist organizations capable of advanced, horrific science, monsters, magical alchemy, people made of coins, space aliens and other fantastical concepts exist, for real, in the world of Kamen Rider--but they're secret.
Kamen Rider Wizard adds a new spin to the Kamen Rider Universe in the form of a magical system allowing its user to cast spells, rather than magical items that grant a more vague power. Humans with high magical potential are called Gates. Gates hold within them a monster called a Phantom, who will emerge from the Gate when they lose all hope and consume them, taking their human host's memory and physical form. Haruto Souma, the Ring-bearing Wizard, was one of a number of Gates who were involved in a magical ritual called the Sabbath. Most of the Gates present were killed during the ritual, giving birth to Phantoms circumventing their own hopes. Haruto Souma was capable of fighting his Phantom and emerging physically whole from the experience with his Phantom, WizarDragon (called Dragon), compressed in his mental landscape, called his Underworld. This feat allowed Haruto the ability to use magic, thereby becoming a wizard.
Mana (maryoku, lit. magical power) is the magical power of the Wizard universe. All people contain a small amount of mana, but it's only Gates, those who hold Phantoms in their Underworlds, who have a large, harvestable amount. Any Gate who defeats their own despair and subjugates their inner Phantom is a wizard from that moment, but they must be provided a Driver in order to use magic rings or to be a transforming wizard like those who appear in the show.
Phantoms are also capable of using mana, but they do not require magic rings to do so, and their powers tend to fall under a specific avenue: Wiseman, as the Carbuncle Phantom, is capable of creating magic stones. Medusa, like the mythological figure, is capable of turning people to stone. Phoenix consumes elemental magic and returns to life each time he is defeated atop fire powers. The Phantom called Gremlin possesses the ability to teleport and sever magical bindings. Like the active emerged Phantoms of the series, wizards seem to have elemental affinities: Haruto's affinity, for example, is clearly fire, though he uses all four elements.
All wizards in the show (with one, very notable exception) received their Drivers from the mysterious White Wizard, also known as one Sou Fueki.

Abilities:
Haruto is a wizard, meaning he has magical powers. Unlike a classical "wizard", however, Haruto's magic is limited by the use of magic rings, through which magical power (mana) is channeled using a belt called a Driver.
Haruto's spells listing is as follows:
Engage Ring: Allows Wizard to help Gates in Phantom-caused despair by sending him into their Underworld through a Magical Portal to stop a new Phantom from being born. Destroying the Gate's inner Phantom will save their life, but also strips them of their magical potential as a side-effect to prevent repeated attacks.
Dragorise Ring: Summons the WizarDragon in an Underworld.
Connect Ring: Opens a Magical Portal between two different locations. Typically used to retrieve the WizarSwordGun, Machine Winger or DragoTimer.
Small Ring: Shrinks down the wearer drastically to less than an inch.
Sleep Ring: Puts the wearer to sleep.
Big Ring: Allows Wizard to enlarge his arms to hit enemies with. When used on the WizarSwordGun's Hand Author, it enlarges the weapon.
Light Ring: Emits a bright flash of light which brightens darkened areas and blinds foes.
Please Ring: Transfers Wizard's Mana into the wearer.
Liquid Ring: Only shown being used with Water Style or Water Dragon. Temporarily transmutates Wizard's body into a liquid-like state to make melee attacks useless or to grapple with a foe.
Copy Ring: Creates corporal copies of Wizard that move in synchronization with him. When used on the WizarSwordGun's Hand Author, it creates a duplicate of the weapon. They are unable of independent thought, and merely mimic the original.
Drill Ring: Typically used with Land Style or Land Dragon. Allows Wizard to spin at high speeds to burrow through the ground.
Smell Ring: Releases a horrible odor that emits from the wearer.
Extend Ring: Allows Wizard to elongate a part of his body.
Dress Up Ring: Changes the wearer's clothes into an outfit appropriate for the setting (i.e., a formal suit for a fancy party, a student's uniform to enter a school)
Excite Ring: Temporarily enhances Wizard's muscles to spectacular results. If in Rider form, Wizard becomes a hulking giant that can easily destroy Ghouls.
Fall Ring: Creates a hole for Wizard or anyone/anything else to fall into.
Time Ring: Allows Haruto to send someone through time. Can only be used to return time-displaced individuals to their original point in the timestream.
Flower Ring: Summons various flowers. Has been shown to create both a single daisy and a whole cloud of flower petals, so it appears to work on the user's intent rather than on a specific flower. It does not create plantable flowers.
Teleport Ring: Allows the user to teleport through space and appear in a different location. Appears to be limited to places the user already knows and has been, or can see, and is subject to being redirected by magical barriers and enchantments.
Blizzard Ring: Attacks are only compatible with Water Style or Water Dragon. Initiates a Rider Shooting called Dragon Freeze, where Wizard fires a blast of icy winds to freeze enemies in place. When not in Rider form, it allows Haruto to control ice.
Thunder Ring: Attacks are only compatible with Hurricane Style or Hurricane Dragon. Initiates a Rider Shooting called Dragon Lightning, where Wizard fires WizarDragon in the form of sentient lightning to attack enemies, though the attack is smaller if used in Hurricane Style. When not in Rider form, it allows Haruto to control lightning.
Gravity Ring: Attacks are limited to Land Style and Land Dragon. Initiates a Rider Shooting called Dragon Levitate, where Wizard fires a blast of compressed gravity at the enemy to levitate them into the air and then drop them to the ground with a sharp increase in gravity, leaving a sizable crater as a result. When not in Rider form, it allows Haruto to control gravity underneath his Magical Portal.
He has two rings whose effects vary by form: Bind, a defensive spell to hold people or things in place, and Defend, which is a shielding spell.
Bind:
Flame Style: A dome of fire that melts objects upon contact.
Water Style: A veil of water that not only blocks attacks, but can also slam into enemies to splash them.
Hurricane Style: A giant wind force appears all around Wizard that not only blocks attacks, but can also force enemies back.
Land Style/Land Dragon: A slab of stone that not only blocks enemy attacks, but can also entomb them if they charge right into it.
Flame Dragon: An eruption similar to a volcano appears around Wizard to protect him from enemy attacks.
Base (no Style): A red magical portal similar to the Connect ring forms a barrier.
Defend:
Flame Style/Flame Dragon: Metal chains.
Water Style: Liquid chains.
Water Dragon: Ice chains.
Land Style/Land Dragon: Stone chains.
Base (no Style): Red magical chains.
Haruto is capable of transforming into an armored form generally called "the Ring-bearing Wizard", or more commonly simply "Wizard". As Wizard, Haruto has nine different forms, called "Styles":
Flame Style - his most natural form, as he has an affinity for flame magic. Flame Style is offense-focused, with high speed and agility. He is capable of channeling fire to aid physical attacks in this form.
Flame Dragon Style - a powered-up version of Flame Style, Flame Dragon is a balanced form that allows Haruto to manifest his Phantom's head on his chest through a magical portal, in order to use his flame breath on his foes. When combined with the other four Dragon Styles using the DragoTimer, he can equip all four parts Dragon lends him into a form called "All Dragon".
Water Style - a water-affiliated form. Water Style is faster than Flame Style, but weaker. It does, however, allow him to breathe underwater and change the composition of his body into liquid at will using the "Liquid" spell. As with Flane Style, he can channel water to aid his physical attacks.
Water Dragon Style - a powered-up version of Water Style. Water Dragon gains an affinity for ice, and allows for the manifestation of Dragon's tail. He can freeze enemies and part large bodies of water using this form.
Hurricane Style - a wind-affiliated form. The weakest of the four base Styles, Hurricane Style allows Haruto to hover by drawing wind into small tornadoes. It is the fastest form.
Hurricane Dragon Style - a powered-up version of Hurricane Style. Somewhat predictably, it allows for the manifestation of Dragon's wings, allowing for high-speed flight. This form has an added affinity for lightning.
Land Style - an earth-affiliated form. Easily the strongest and toughest base Style, Land Style is the slowest Style, but has high defense.
Land Dragon Style - a powered-up version of Land Style, Land Dragon allows for the manifestation of Dragon's claws, and has an added affinity for control over gravity.
Infinity Style - Haruto's most powerful form. In this form Dragon unites with Haruto's armor, allowing his armor to become as powerful as a magical diamond. Comes with an ax-sword formed from Dragon himself that grows huge when high-fived while wearing the Infinity Ring. Allows Haruto to shrug off most attacks, and flashstep.
DragoTimer - this glove-like apparatus features a wrist-mounted timer. When activated, it allows Haruto to copy himself into four separate iterations of himself, capable of independent thought and action. Use of the DragoTimer is a massive investment of mana, and cannot be done multiple times in one day.
PlaMonsters are Haruto's magical familiars. They are small (hand-sized) animals that can be charged with mana and then turn back into their base ring form when that charge wears out. There are four PlaMonsters: Garuda, a hawk, Kraken, an octopus, Unicorn, a... unicorn, and Golem, which is roughly gorilla-shaped. Golem is a capable craftsman and has made both a chest to hold Haruto's rings and a powerless replica of Kousuke Nitoh's Beast Driver from stone.
Outside of his magic, Haruto is an able fighter. He uses a sword that shifts into a gun, working with both with ease. He doesn't punch people because he wears giant rings all the time, so his fighting style relies heavily on kicks and his weapon. Haruto is extremely fit, though he requires a high calorie intake in order to keep his mana regeneration high. He prefers sugars, though. As a former professional-level soccer player, he is a talented athlete. He's also capable of doing that magic trick that involves hovering a ping pong ball!
Inventory:
Most prominently, the Wizard Driver, which generally exists in the form of a hand-shaped belt buckle (as seen here), and after the Driver On ring is scanned over the Driver, transforms into its main Driver form, seen here.
Haruto has all of the following rings detailed here. He is carrying all of them on his person at his canon point. He is also carrying both the DragoTimer, a glove apparatus which allows him to copy himself, and the Wizard SwordGun, a Final Fantasy VII style gunblade with a neverending supply of silver bullets. See here. He also has the AxCalibur, but that doesn't exist physically until he manifests Dragon using the capabilities of Infinity Style.
